National Poll Reflects First Ward Attitudes

I am campaigning on the idea that City Hall is too big, trying to do too much, and suffocating our city with taxes and regulations. Most of the folks I’ve met agree. A recent Gallup poll shows the whole country wants government to get back to basics:

Americans are more likely today than in the recent past to believe that government is taking on too much responsibility for solving the nation's problems and is over-regulating business. New Gallup data show that 57% of Americans say the government is trying to do too many things that should be left to businesses and individuals, and 45% say there is too much government regulation of business. Both reflect the highest such readings in more than a decade.

This was a national poll on national issues. I’m not trying to read too much into it. The First Ward, I think, is comfortable with significant Federal power. But people around here still think City Hall has failed to keep its priorities, and many are having a genuinely hard time keeping up with all the local tax hikes.

I’m the only candidate who wants to stop further tax increases AND who offers a policy path that will allow us to keep our high quality of life. I have faith in Northeasters to work together outside of government.
